10 Recipes for National Apple Month!

October is National Apple Month! This makes sense, considering it’s the time of year that everyone suddenly develops an interest an apple-picking. You’re definitely going to need some recipes to use up the seven pounds of apples you brought home out of pure excitement. Maybe this list will help you out!

Apple Oatmeal with Chocolate Tahini & Coconut

This combination of ingredients would not appear to go together at first glance, but they truly do. Chocolate tahini is also a great way to test the waters if you’re new to tahiniland.

Apple & Veggie Sausage Oatmeal

This is seriously one of my favorites, and when I first created the recipe, I ate it every day for two weeks for both breakfast and lunch. #cantstopwontstop

Caramel Apple Oatmeal Parfait

I could pretty much eat the same bowl of oats every morning (lately it’s Cardamom Fudge), but some people like to switch things up. A parfait is an easy way to switch up the format of your daily porridge.

PB&J with Apples Oatmeal

This is another go-to favorite. While I typically eat the banana version, this variation blows my mind each time I have it. I forget just how well apple goes with PB&J.

Apple Pie Steel-Cut Oatmeal

This is a classic, and also a good option for picky eaters (who doesn’t love apple pie?). The best part about this recipe is that it makes a big batch, so it will help you use up all those apples you brought home. 🙂

Salted Maple, Apple, & Pecan Oatmeal

This was one of my first salted recipes, and it remains my favorite. ‘Nough said.

Pomegranate Apple Oatmeal

Here is a very simple recipe starring two wonderful fruits: pomegranate and apple. It may seem overly simple, but pomegranates really do not need much because they tend to rock the show on their own.

Salted Caramel Apple Oatmeal

If you’re too lazy to layer up the aforementioned parfait, this recipe allows you to capture the same flavors using only one saucepan. And, as scientifically proven*, a pinch of coarse salt makes everything better.

In case you tire of apples in your oats, how about trying them on your oats instead? Compotes are a fun way to dress up your breakfast, and this one screams autumn!

Spiced Apple Oatmeal with Tahini & Honey

As far as tahini goes, this is a classic and perfect flavor profile. Honey + tahini + apples. “Name a more iconic trio…I’ll wait.”
