This Week in Oatmeal 12/31/2016

Every Saturday, I gather oatmeal recipes from around the web from the previous 1-3 weeks, as well as outstanding Instagram photos. These posts may grow or evolve as time passes. Please feel free to give your feedback in the comments section!

Happy New Year’s Eve!! This crazy year is finally over. I’m so glad I didn’t assign a theme for this week because there were so many beautiful shots to choose from!

I want to say Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to my IG fam ??❤️. I love you all and you guy strive me to create the bowls and food for that are on my page. As I’m opening presents and watching my parents opening up gifts I’m enjoying a bowl of “Berry Velvet Oats topped with blueberries, blackberries, marshmallows, semisweet chocolate chips and blueberry brownie. To make Berry Velvet Oats you’ll need : ? 1/2 cup coconut milk (vanilla or regular unsweetened) ?1/2 cup rolled oats ?1/2 tsp vanilla extract ?1/2 tsp sweetener ?1/4 cup blueberries & blackberries (each or combined) ?1-2 tsp of dark or semisweet chocolate || directions: ?Bring your coconut milk, berries and sweetener to a boil. ?Once boiling, add your vanilla extract and Oats. Reduce heat to medium low and allow it to simmer 5-8 minutes. During this time you can slowly being to mash the berries unless you want them whole. ?Once all the liquid had been absorbed stir in the chocolate chips at the very end. ?Now it’s time to top and enjoy!!
