Choco-Banana Sauce

Here’s an easy and pretty-darn-healthy topping for you. It’s not attractive, but . . .

I used it to top some peanut butter oatmeal, but you could use it as “hot fudge” in Banana Split Oatmeal, or heck, just use it on a regular banana split! 🙂

Choco-Banana Sauce

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 2 minutes

Yield: serves 1

What you'll need:

  • 1/3 banana, mashed thoroughly
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

How to make it:

  1. Combine all ingredients. You could either blend them up if you have a mini blender or food processor, or just mash them with a fork as I did. Obviously, blending it will give it a better consistency (just look at the photos as proof of the terrible consistency I achieved with my fork!).
  2. Heat on the stove in a small saucepan on low, OR zap it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Either way, you may need to add drops of water to keep it thin enough.
